Light For Me Backup is switched on/off by simply twisting the head to the body. Due to high precision in making the thread on the body, it is easy to switch it on/off underwater. This solution has been tested for many years in various scuba diving conditions. It is reliable, easy to maintain and does not require much attention. Both head and body are knurled for easier gripping and twisting.

C-Size/R14 Body
Underwater Light For Me backup torch with standard body can be powered by 3x C-size/R14 batteries. Body’s design allows for easy batteries replacement by unscrewing backup head and sliding them out. C-size/R14 batteries are popular and widely available. It is recommended to use high quality genuine batteries.

C-Size to 18650 Battery Adapter
3xC-size to 1 x 18650 Li-Ion battery adapter is designed to allow powering standard Light For Me backup torch with one 18650 Li-Ion rechargeable batterey. It fits any long Light For Me backup torch manufactured for the last 10 years. The adapter is made from delrin and is easy to use – simply slide the adapter inside the backup body, place the 18650 Li-Ion battery and it is ready. If you decide to go back to 3xC batteries, slide the adapter out of the body and it is done. No additional tools required to assemble it.

Body for 18650 battery
Underwater Light For Me backup torch with mini body is powered by one 18650 Li-Ion battery. Body is made from anodised aluminum with knurls on head and body for easier grip and twisting. Grooves on the body make the whole backup lighter. Body’s design allows for easy battery replacement by unscrewing backup head and sliding it out.

Different spots and power
Basic backup light with power output of 330 lumens and narrow beam of light. Very cold, bright light colour, perfect for waters with poorer visibility.
Powerful backup light with 16-degree beam and 1050 lumen output. It works well as backup light, but can also be used as main light when diving in warm waters with good visibility.
Strong narrow-beam backup light with power output of 1200 lumens. It is often used both as backup light and primary due to its power output.
Double sealing
Each Light For Me backup light is equipped with two sealing orings that protect the torch and make the head-to-body connection watertight. The orings are strong and will withstand a lot of normal scuba diving use. It is recommended to check and clean them regularly, applying some grease afterwards. Damaged, cut or old orings should be replaced before taking the backup light underwater.
Attaching to the harness
Light For Me backup’s design allows for easy and simple attachment of the backup torch to the diving harness by tying a snap bolt to the hole in the back part of the backup’s body. This part has additional sealing oring.

Contact boards
Backup TEC
Dedicated contact board equipped with two resistors and nickel plated spring. Two plastic screws prevent from accidental short circuit. The silver ring around the spring is a contact surface between backup body and the head and should always be kept clean and grease-free for better electrical conductivity.
Backup 3XPG
Dedicated contact board for Light For ME Backup 3XPG is equipped with nickel plated spring for better conductivity and two plastic screws that prevent from accidental short circuit should the battery touch the board.
Backup XML
Light For Me Backup XML’s dedicated contact board is equipped with four resistors, nickel plated spring and two plastic screws. The silver ring on the edge of the contact board works as a contact surface between backup body and the head and should always be kept clean and grease-free.
